My name is Luis Quintana, and i'm a California born and raised tattooer based in San Diego, where I tattoo at Big trouble tattoo. I've been tattooing for 16 years, beginning my journey in 2010 in my hometown of Modesto, California. In those early years, I spent a lot of time developing my style and finding my voice as an artist. Much of that came from the music I grew up loving - heavy, slow, dark, and unapologetic. Those influences found their way into the way I approach tattooing and continue to shape my work today. Eventually, I made my way to San Diego, where I continued to grow as a tattooer in North Park. My work is my own take on Traditional tattooing, drawing from Traditional Americana, Japanese, and Chicano fine line. My interest is taking those classic foundations and pushing them into something more dynamic, illustrated, and personal - while still respecting what makes a great tattoo.
